Based in Blenheim, Lundons Law provides practical legal advice and representation for a range of legal services that affect families and businesses in the Marlborough and Kaikōura region. We provide services in the region, throughout New Zealand, and to overseas clients.
Lundons Law operates as a team – every one of our staff members is experienced in their work areas, professional on all fronts and are contributors to the Marlborough community.

Our Lawyers

Steve Riley, Director
Solicitor
In 2003 Steve Riley joined the partnership and took over the firm when John Lundon retired in 2007.
Steve is a solicitor and can help you with conveyancing, subdivision, estate planning, business and commercial matters, and advice involving vineyards.
Steve’s enjoyment in working with our clients is in finding solutions and practical outcomes. Steve has an easy and straightforward communication style. He focuses on each client and will ensure you understand the process and know where things are heading.

Simon Gaines, Director
Solicitor & Litigator
Simon brings experience and expertise in court work and dispute resolution. We aim to resolve disputes before they go to court, and as an Associate Member of the Arbitrators Mediators Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ), Simon has negotiation and mediation skills to assist. He has experience appearing in the District Court, Family Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal, Local government hearings, and the Environment Court. Simon works with our estate’s administration team in resolving estate disputes.
Much of his work is in relationship property, negotiating separation-divorce agreements, and appearing in the Family Court.
Simon is involved in the Marlborough Community. He is a coach for the 11th Grade Blenheim Rangers (5 years). He is a past Board Member of the Community Law Marlborough (5 years), and a past Board Member of the Marlborough Regional Education Assistance Programme – REAP Aotearoa (3 years).

Kristin White, Associate
Solicitor
Kristin joined Lundons Law as a solicitor in 2019. She is a fifth-generation Marlburian, with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, and within the community.
Kristin’s pragmatic approach is essential in working with our clients to achieve their goals.

Our Legal Assistants & Support Team
All of our team are efficient, diligent and great during client interactions.
Cindy has worked in law since 1999 and qualified as a Legal Executive in 2012. Spending most of her life in Christchurch, she has made Blenheim her home and prides herself on serving her community as a JP and a Community Patroller.
Vanessa is a legal assistant who has worked with the firm for more than 20 years. She is efficient, practical and diligent. She ensures that all documentation is prepared quickly and accurately. Vanessa largely works in conveyancing matters and her knowledge in this area is an asset to our team.
Vicky is a registered legal executive. Her key practice areas are trusts and estates which she administers with an eye for detail and accuracy. Vicky is friendly and empathetic which is essential when helping people through a difficult time in their lives.
Arnaka is a registered legal executive, who works predominantly in conveyancing. She is friendly and enthusiastic in her interactions with clients. Arnaka meets with clients and prepares accurate documentation to facilitate the smooth completion of client work.
Alison is our Finance & Compliance Manager. She manages our trust account and is responsible for overseeing AML compliance and accounts payable/receivable. Alison has over 15 years experience in legal trust accounting and enjoys the precision this role requires.
Abbey is our administration assistant, and is likely to be the friendly face at reception and answering your call. She’s grown up in Marlborough and is great with client interactions. Abbey has an eye for detail and is diligent in responding to client queries.
Kate is our office manager, supporting the Directors with general practice management and ad hoc projects.
